Water & Earth
Technologies, Inc. (WET) has been working under a task order contract (since
spring of 2000) to provide hydrologic services on an as-needed basis. Work
completed-to-date includes erosion and sediment control modeling (using
RUSLE 1.06 and SEDCAD 4.0) for both disturbed and reclaimed areas for
compliance with the New Mexico Mining and Minerals Division (MMD)
regulations and mine permit requirements. The work includes design of slope
gradients and shapes; terrace placement and sizing; design of grass filters, |

rock check dams, and silt
fencing; design of diversion channels; design of other alternate sediment
and erosion controls; and hydrologic, hydraulic and structural design of
sediment ponds. SEDCAD 4.0 models have been developed and calibrated for
effluent compliance monitoring locations to estimate sediment pond
discharges resulting from measured precipitation events and rainfall
distributions (for NPDES compliance). |
